I offer certification in first aid, whether this is needed for a particular course or job role, or for the valuable life skill it provides. It is particularly useful for young people embarking on life away from home for the first time.
Knowing how to react quickly in an emergency, and how to keep themselves and their friends safe, are skills that save young people’s lives.
An integral part of the first aid training I offer is talking to students about the types of scenarios they may encounter and how to manage them, along with accessing relevant help.
Case study: Edinburgh student puts their first aid knowledge to good use
Many young people attend our first aid courses to gain important life skills before heading off to university.
Read the story of one such student who put his new first aid skills into action when a pedestrian collapsed on the street.
First aid and life skills
Every year healthy young people die at parties, gatherings and festivals. Knowing how to keep safe and well, whilst enjoying life, is fundamental. It also increases your confidence and sense of community; should an emergency situation occur you’ll know what to do.
I offer guidance on avoiding and managing ‘spiking‘, recognising and being safe in an emergency and knowing how to access the right help, early on, should it be needed. The training can also incorporate baby and child first aid, which is useful for young people who babysit.
